I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the peoples of Kenya and Jamaica as the two countries enhance relations between the two countries. The recent commencement of operations at the Kenya High Commission in Kingston from 15th July 2026 is a clear stamping of the new chapter in Kenya–Jamaica Relations.
The development is subsequent to a seamless transition of Kenya’s diplomatic operations from Havana, Cuba, to Kingston, Jamaica. This season indeed ushers in a new chapter in the longstanding relationship between Kenya and Jamaica while strengthening Kenya’s diplomatic presence across the wider Caribbean.
On behalf of the Optiven Diaspora Division I take this opportunity to congratulate Ambassador Karisa Mwenda who is the incumbent resident high commissioner of Kenya to Jamaica. I join Ambassador Mwenda to appreciate the Kenyan government through the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, H.E. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, EGH, and Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Korir Sing’Oei, CBS, for their vision, guidance and unwavering support throughout the relocation process, noting that their leadership remained instrumental in making the milestone a reality. The establishment of the High Commission underscores Kenya’s commitment to deepening its strategic partnership with Jamaica by expanding political, economic, trade, investment, cultural and people-to-people cooperation. The Mission will enhance the delivery of consular services to Kenyans within its area of accreditation. The opening of the Mission will strengthen the enduring friendship between Kenya and Jamaica, advance South-South cooperation, and unlock new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships, shared growth and prosperity across the Caribbean region.
